While there is some debate over whether artichokes were eaten in Roman times, we can be sure that they’ve been a part of the rich Mediterranean culinary tradition for a period spanning centuries.
For good reason too, artichokes are a rare vegetable in which both the ‘heart’ and leaves are desired as delicacies. Our artichoke quarters are poached and bathed in oil and various spices to make a beautiful addition to any antipasto, side dish, or salad.
