Vanilla Soufflé with Chocolate Fondue

There’s something magical about a soufflé: it’s light, airy, and effortlessly elegant. While it may have a reputation for being tricky, with just a few simple steps, you can create a show-stopping dessert perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

This vanilla soufflé, paired with the rich and velvety chocolate fondue, is pure indulgence. The moment your spoon breaks through the delicate, golden top and the warm chocolate cascades into the soft, custardy center, it’s a moment of pure bliss. Whether you’re looking to impress a loved one or simply treat yourself, this dessert is the ultimate combination of romance and decadence.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  •  4 eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (for base)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (for egg whites)
  • 5 tablespoons 00 flour
  •  **2 teaspoons vanilla extract**
  •  Salted butter and sugar (for coating ramekins)
  •  Chocolate Fondue 

PREPARATION

1. Preheat oven to **375°F (190°C). 

2. Grease ramekins with butter and dust with sugar, ensuring even coating. 

3. In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until steaming but not boiling. 

4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, and egg yolks until smooth. 

5. Slowly pour the hot milk into the mixture, whisking continuously. 

6. Return to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until         thickened (about 2 minutes). 

7. Remove from heat and stir in **vanilla extract**. Let cool slightly. 

8. In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. 

9. Gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. 

10. Gently fold **1/3 of the whipped egg whites into the warm pastry cream to lighten it. 

11. Carefully fold in the remaining egg whites until fully incorporated. 

12. Fill the prepared ramekins to the top and smooth the surface with a spatula. 

13. Run your thumb along the inner rim of each ramekin to help the soufflé rise evenly. 

14. Bake for 18-20 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. 

 15. While soufflés are baking, place the jar of Chocolate Fondue in warm water.

16. Once out of the oven, quickly cut a small slit in the center of each soufflé. 

17. Drizzle generously with warm chocolate fondue. 

18. Serve immediately for the best texture!
