Panettone French Toast

There’s something magical about starting the morning with the comforting aroma of warm, buttery French toast—but this version takes breakfast to a whole new level. By swapping traditional bread for rich, fluffy panettone, you get a decadent twist that’s perfect for cozy weekends, holiday brunches, or whenever you want to treat yourself to something truly special.
Soaked in a creamy vanilla custard and cooked to golden perfection, each slice becomes irresistibly soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. Finish it with whipped cream, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar, and you’ve got a breakfast that looks like it came straight from a café, yet is incredibly simple to make at home.

Let’s dive into this indulgent Panettone French Toast that’s guaranteed to become a new favorite!

Doses for : 2 people

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 8–10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

3 oz heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla syrup

1 whole egg ( mix well)

8 oz panettone sliced

4 oz butter

whipped cream

powder sugar

berries

PREPARATION

1. In a bowl, whisk together the 3 oz heavy cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup, and 1 whole egg until fully combined and smooth.

2. Slice the 8 oz panettone into thick, even slices to ensure they hold up during cooking.

3. Submerge each panettone slice into the custard mixture.

4. Allow each side to soak for a few seconds so the bread absorbs the custard without becoming soggy.

5. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 4 oz butter

6. Once the butter is bubbling (but not burning), it’s ready for the panettone.

7. Place the soaked panettone slices into the skillet.

8. Cook until golden brown on each side, about 2–3 minutes per side, adjusting heat as needed so the butter doesn't burn.

9. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream, a dusting of powdered sugar, and fresh berries.
